this happened to TR years ago. that was the thin end of the wedge.
Bank of Melbourne did this to someone I know. A transfer of crypto into an account – withdrawal of the amount triggered the bank to lock the account – it was put into the hands of the fraud dept and no information was given to the customer as to when the account would be accessible again. The bank wanted to know what the person was going to spend the money on. After 2 weeks, the account was reactivated – the bank credited the person $500 for the inconvenience – possibly after a complaint was made to the Ombudsman.

These banks acting on financial abuse situations is probably the odd one out of your examples because it makes sense for a bank to assume a duty of care and help people who are being robbed/abused. Banks are often the line of defence between someones wealth and a criminal

if a person has a loan with a bank and moves any savings out of that bank into a new bank aswell has having their income go into the new bank, if the old bank wants the loan repayementts and the individual wants to pay the repayments in cash, they have to accept it if they want their money back, aswell as the fact that cash is legal tender, a bank does not have the right to refuse it.

In October 2020, Westpac was ordered to pay a fine of $1.3 billion for breaching the Anti-Money Laundering Act. The cost of accepting cash transactions has never been so high. Westpac is just doing what is required under the spirit of the law (KYC etc). Don't blame the bank. It costs them hundreds of dollars each time the fraud team looks at an account. Our politicians created this law. Lay the blame where it ought to land.
This will all lead to banking legislative REGULATION !!🤨

I tyed to send money to my freinds family in thailand and it got declined. The fraud department got in touch and i argued with them for hours, in the end they would not let the transaction go ahead because i wouldnt explain where or why i was sending the money, this was pre covid…

I've seen heritage bank deny money to a friend who cares for his mother. The bank decided they didn't need the money they requested and this was six months ago. The 21 year old teller made an assesment that the money wasn't needed for renovations and said they couldn"t withdraw more than 160 when they needed 5000.
So we all remember the Royal Commission into Banking? Charging dead People fees, screwing over Farmers and small business?? How many went to JAIL ??? Zero!!! How many of the alleged regulators lost their jobs??? Zero!!!

i was blocked and same thing ,there was in a message on screen saying under money laundering investigating
my acc has been closed luck for me , buyer had not picked up car yet, he was pissed that i would not give him
the car, he drove 200km to pick it up, i no longer use Ebay, or paypal,
What the fuck is wrong with everything these days thanks for getting rid of colours so you can't pull out cash from people and you have to use the machine maybe I don't want to use a machine I want to go talk to people instead they're making it so much harder to access your own money
