A quick update on the China War Thesis released less than a week ago. China’s military sent 71 planes and seven ships toward Taiwan in a 24-hour display of force directed at the self-ruled island, Taiwan’s Defense Ministry said Monday, after China expressed anger at Taiwan-related provisions i n a U.S. annual defense spending bill.
China’s military harassment of Taiwan, which it claims is its own territory, has intensified in recent years, and the Communist Party’s People’s Liberation Army has sent planes or ships toward the island on a near-daily basis.

China will not let US militarise Taiwan as it did Ukraine. They would only absorb more damage in a proxy war. Taiwan has already gotten a preview of what to expect by watching the conflict in Europe play out. It would be folly to poke the dragon on behalf of the US.
China is fed up with the hypocrisy of US foreign policy. Recognizing Taiwan as part of China while providing arms, funding political movements, encouraging provocative visits by politicians with agendas, US war ships patrolling the Taiwan strait under the pretext of protecting the right of navigation… is also a joke as blocking the busiest shipping area in the world is the last thing China wants. However the US is fully prepared to block the strait for it's own interests just like they did to Japan and provoking the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The way China see's it if no one is interfering with Russia/Ukraine war, then maybe no one will interfere with China/Taiwan war. They probably see the Ukraine conflict as a good enough distraction to attack Taiwan.

What about the American bases that threaten China ie in Korea, japan, and Okinawa were they are not wanted but impose themselves on the local population. Why does America need so many bases overseas ? over 180 China has one maybe two who is the agressor ? I'm not overly concerned about this. There were large scale crossings of the median line earlier this year as well. I think this is more about China trying to distract from its domestic issues right now (massive COVID outbreak).
