it’s not a guarantee china can take taiwan – it’s a natural fortress, & the PLA/chinese navy/air force isn’t ready – the taiwanese air force could also retaliate by destroying the 3 gorges dam, that would flood all of central mainland china (400 million people under water; crippling the country/government… of course china could then go nuclear & the whole world dies in runaway escalation – but still, nobody took taiwan

1st, MLK also said something to the effect of ~ freedom is taken not given & I think it analogous to the civil rights movement as it was a huge encroachment on individual (property) rights as I'm sure you know, a govt gift/entitlement.
2nd, I would say that united we stand divided we fall ie as a culture we must leave behind the libertarian idea that we don't have ownership of this land, America, & as such, as Americans I should say, we are duty bound to dissolve our govt if or when it becomes tyrannical
3rd, which brings me to my next point, instead of everyone suggesting peaceful means only, influencers ought suggest the rather, that we again, as Americans dissolve tyrannical govt. Meaning, we need to move as a culture.
Finally, & i do appreciate your thinking this through w/ me, the thought that we would allow ourselves to be peacefully placed into a tyranny, a much harder place to escape than we are currently in, that we would allow our space to be taken, that we would lose America w/o a fight, is embarrassing, a slap in the face of everyone who fought for a free land before us, a dismissal of all those suffering now & to come, & a great way to live in an Era in which everyone w/ balls is culled from whatever miserable herd is left.

IP law isn’t perfect. I think it’s a net positive. Maybe by 2 or 3% but a net positive nonetheless. If you came out with a product that wasn’t patented, a big company would just come along and copy/undercut you. They would steal your idea/product mass produce it in China and saturate the marked at a cheaper price.

Washington State has 12 electoral votes. My county has always voted red. Trump won 28 out of the 39 counties in this state. You'd think that Trump would get 8 out of thise 12 electoral votes for wining that many counties. However, Washington has a "winner takes all rule" so whoever gets the majority of the popular vote, gets all of the electoral votes. So all 12 electoral votes went to Hilary in 2016.
To sum it up, no my vote doesn't matter here on the eastern side of Washington. Im voting with my feet on this next election and moving to texas. Fuck this hell hole.

I think the policy prescriptions these two recommend are really good, but the hand waving of what is going on in China is pretty disgusting. If the US was using force to sterilize people and put them in "vocational camps" it would be the biggest story on this podcast for the next 10 years, and justifiably so. The Chinese government killed more people in the last 100 years than any government on Earth. So a little less focus on how not that bad the Chinese government is would go along way in an honest refutation of China warhawks.
