Price of timber should go up again
They voted for that rock spider Andrews, now enjoy your the fruits of your vote.
Good for nothing bastards.
Grow hemp grows faster than trees😅
planning Bamboo and continue making toilet papers 😀 > good prices
Spot on Heise and people don't think what the consequences will be for the outcome of those decisions.
From my experience Unions can be important to protect workers but unions have no stake if a company goes broke and workers lose jobs. Perhaps when workers are made redundant if the union had to pay part of their workers redundancy then the unions would be more caring about keeping the company viable.
Nothing new about the ALP destroying jobs
Unemployment has never fallen under Labor. They have never been voted out with unemployment lower at the end than at the beginning.
In contrast unemployment went from 8% to 4% under Howard/Costello and they lost office.
It's all part of the plan ….. just wait until all the people " adversely effected " by the " secret sauce " starts ramping up and the " Compensation Bill " for it that was presented to Parliament in February 2021 that holds all employers liable for injury for THE REST OF THE INJURED PERSONS LIFE !!
2023 is a milestone year for the ' Agenda '
Get ready !!
Not one greenie lost his or her job.
Predicting< a reversal of a trend is risky, and even worse, I believe there is more to this market than we understand currently. When people are losing, they don't aim to increase their average, but that can only change if you have a personal trade guide and signal provider like that of Debra Haycraft which has made me almost 9.5 on a 2 btc Trade capital over the last 3 months. Make the wise decision. Markets fluctuate in cycles that can last anywhere from a few days to several years. In the case of B -TC, it's difficult to make a bullish case simply from looking at the charts.
Who cares.
We all lose jobs at various times and I would rather lose one to protect endangered species rather than for corporate profits and bs tbh.
Possums are a pest in NZ.
I will never join a Union
The Government has destroyed a lot of things in the last 3 years
The result of voting in activists and Socialists
Too many teals and watermelon commies – it's utter bull. As for all this carbon zero…. what a joke, when China continues to spew out pollution and is now discussing partial removal of Aussie fossil fuel export embargoes. It's unconstitutional, unjust and unpatriotic. Australia and Australians must come first.
4:09 my understanding was that the timber harvesting of state forests in Victoria has been a government money loser for a long time. The harvesting had been continued to support the timber jobs.
Lucky the unemployment rate is so low at this time. I hope the workers find other opportunities.
This is a human problem. Maybe we can remove and destroy humans … then we wouldnt have a problem.
Maybe if you lived in the Latrobe Valley for an extended period and understand the real issues, otherwise you are desk jock loudmouth
I dont think it matters bc there is a labor shortage and it is easy to get new work inc to retrain. I am doing that too.
That's because all these wanna bes greenies and labour voters think blue collar work is below them and they are entitled to 100k jobs doing basically nothing and vote real productivity out the country
Simply put. The private sector is up against the goverment. With unlimited resources. Another step on relying on the gov.
Please give the logers back there job 😳😮👀😱🤞😤👍😉🙏💰😊
You need to be able to do both. Yes jobs are vital, but so is the environment and our ecosystem. You can’t just wipe everything out so people can have a job. That’s how many whale species were near hunted to extinction in the 19th century.
Ehh, You can blame unions all you want but from my experience it's never management's conditions or pay on the chopping block, it's always the workers.
Look at Australia Post, they laid off hundreds of workers and the management team all ended up with bonuses and gold watches. (I guess that was the unions fault too)
Hi Heise I've been a subscriber since last year, big fan. You're very informative. I have some info on AHPRA if you're interested
The Government is not your friend!
Opal seem to have acted punitively in this instance.
I bet the “management” have ensured that their jobs are safe and their entitlements are in place.
You have covered this well even without the environmental view. Negotiate your job, don't expect it, but being a Victorian who lives in the bush a lot the timber industry is greedy and very bad at the job, we don't need the timber for paper we need it for furniture and Australian industry. If the companies tried just a little to help the workers keep the jobs they would be in business for years. They just demolish areas without any care. We have a lot here in Vic but paper can come from recycled supplies and Pine has taken massive areas for construction. It was due to happen with the bush fires and driving in these areas and camping and fishing for weeks I see it as a waste of Nature just to bulldoze areas for something as shit as paper, save it for a bed frames that lasts 30 years. And stop pouring heaps of mud in my Trout rivers you dicks.
Which is more important, possums or people? Tommy?
Possums/humans, of course, Miss Anja. The environment (possums/humans) must be more important. People rely on the environment to live.
The court case ruling looks like its prioritized possums over people, Tommy.
Florian did that…he didn't dig into the case, only commented on the biased articles, Miss.
That's journalism, Tommy.
Miss, Florian is an influencer, not a journalist.
These people still lost their job, Tommy.
The economy is built around kings(business owners CEO's, etc) who are only interested in their own incomes. They do not care about the incomes of their paid slaves, Miss. The costly scum can be sacked to reduce costly burdens on the kings income. It is the job of governments to allow the people to have an income…but they don't care either.
Should they, Tommy?
Yes, they should. Poverty and homelessness is something that should never be systemic by elected governments. In Australia the RBA, Australia's central bank, has a mandate 10.2c of its Act, to support the economic prosperity and welfare of the Australian people. If it did its job, this article would not exist.
I came within a few votes of taking the Pulp and Paper District Secretary job away from the encombent in a federal union election, a few years ago.
These folk in the top jobs get nomination forms from the electoral commission and then nominate them selves and don't devulge the process that they use to get elected to the rank and file lower levels of the membership.
Any member of the union can ring the electoral office and obtain nomination forms then get some work mates to sign off on their nominations. Just send the forms back to the electoral office and your name will be on the voting register in the next election. When you get elected you will get paid a fantastic salary with car and benefits all paid for by the money you have paid in union fees. For me it was 30 years of paying union fees to support the saleries of officer's.
I knew that I was qualified and could do the job with more diligence that the entitled officers at federal level were doing, so I got my work mates to sign my nomination forms and I sent them to the electoral commission and my name was on the voting ballot paper when it was released and I received votes for a number of positions.
When I observe the current union office holders and knowing that they achieved their positions by nominating them selves with arragance and with an aire of entitlement, I'm not surprised at their latest acts of desperation while members are at risk of losing two hundred and twenty jobs in the Latrobe Valley.
Sending a letter of desperation to the company at the last hour is not achieving adequate KPI's in return for their salaries that have been taken from the members pays in the form of union dues.
Workers can choose to elect representatives that work all year every year achieveing KPI's and provide a proactive service rather than sending reactive letters to the media and the company in an act of desperation in an effort to create the illusion of looking after the members jobs when they are really in fear of losing their own pays.
Beware if any member decides to nominate for top union positions they could face tyranny, opposition and behind the scenes sabotage from the encumbered people if they know that you know, how they get their top jobs. Therefore it's important for a member to win the election because holding the position gives the power to build or destroy others who oppose or support your position.
Let's face it! Unions need to be rebranded to overcome the dirty image that was created during covid.
Let's Have A New Start and Create A Fair and Inclusive Process to secure and create Jobs for everyone. Companies in 2023 and beyond need to know that they are dealing with proactive consultitive ARREO style employee representation in accordance with the Victorian occupational health and safety Act 2014.
Industrial relations laws will
State controlled company was the one was mismanaged and didn’t “look after the possums”. Private business suffers.
Welcome to Communist Australia I mean Socialist !!.
