Wow that's a big business in the building industry is starting to slow down. Imagine how some smaller business are. It's a shame for the poor people getting laid off but they have a business they want to be able to carry on .. Nobody likes to see people get laid off .And no one wants to see business close down

I'm sure there's strong demand for good builders. But customers get silly quotes or get scammed because they must bankroll the builder. For a decent builder with solid pricing who is not expecting upfront payment, there will be jobs.

So true re preparing. I worked at General Motors Holden for almost 20 years – they weren’t my family. I retrained as a social worker in 2006 (my second degree). You gotta do what you gotta do when you have dependants.

Australian housing standards will change in time and James Hardy plasterboard and board business will be redundant . Soon European standards will reach Australia. But who’s paying the men who write the housing standards rules ?
