Nobody was invading Russia.
In March of 2022 it really was great opportunity to reach peaceful settlement and it feels like deja vu of some sort, because almost the same thing happened in 1938 when Russians offered Finland peaceful solution to territorial dispute, but Finns decided to listen Brits and in the winter of 1939 -1940 war broke out, so called winter war. By the way, the offer was Finland going to move its border from St.Petersburg(Russian capital back then) to where it currently is, in return it will get similar in size territory to the north.
