Russia Doubles Military Spend <<<< Joke of the day and this comment shows how little Mercouris understands the Russian economy. Russia's present defence budget is some $65 Billion, which it cannot achieve because it simply doesn't have the capacity neither in manpower nor factory output to achieve that sort of spending. It would massively need to build a lot more factories, which means employing ever more people it doesn't have. So far Russia has lost nearly $200 Billion of military equipment in this war and every day $millions are being added to that, in fact they are losing more than they can replace so the backlog of things needing replacing gets ever bigger and bigger. China does not seem willing to mass produce military equipment for Russia and it's other stooges North Korea and Iran could only take up a tiny portion of that production. Add that to the fact that Russia loss of earnings (Gas alone is – $100 Billion) per year has been heavily reduced and the collapse of the Rouble means that Russia cannot import even half of what it could for the same price. Russia is losing 300 tanks per month but can only produce 15 replacements per month so thinking that throwing money you don't have and cannot afford is going to solve the problem just goes to show how dim these people are !!!
Ukraine. Mobilization of 2 million individuals would essentially equal the entire 'military age' population. Let alone it deprives the nation of a valuable working segment of the citizenry.
