Why the discrepancy in numbers? Because the Ukrainians are lying through their teeth. It's propaganda to convince the Russian public to not support the war, and to garner worldwide support. It's transparently simple.
Easy math. the ukronazis started with around 600 000 troops. Two days ago the nazi general zaluzhny stated that he has around 200 000 troops. At the meantime before the Artemovsk (bakhmut) disaster the fascist EU von der Leyen leaked that more then 100 000 ukronazis were killed.
After mentioned disaster in Artemovsk, it is probably + 20 000 killed ukronazis. Now by hacked documents last week from ministry of defence of ukronazistan, another 36 000 ukronazis are missing , means killed. Ad this numbers 100 +20 000 + 36 000 and you have minimum 156 000 ukronazi fertilisers of Russian soil. Now multiply this by 3 and you have 486 000 wounded + 156 000 = 642 000 denazified garbage not able to fight and kill, rape, loot civillians ever again. This is corresponding of zaluzhni statement, considering the ongoing mobilisation basicaly from march. In this number are included the polish fascists about 1000 KIA /3000 wounded, the all fascist garbage from USA/UK/EU/NATO/romania/georgia/canada/israel/ISIS/ etc……could be also 1000KIA/3000 wounded. Plus you have a mobilised women, around 50 000 the ukronazis says in servis, anyhow, some ukronazi sources saying that already 30 000 of mobilised women are "missing" . I am not counting this, it is just a reality of fascist nazi zelensky war criminal and the garbage USA/UK/EU/NATO fascist LGBTQNSDAP woke clowns fighting their war by women, it is not included in numbers. So we have 642 000 denazified garbage and 200 000 more ukronazis ready to be denazified by statement of nazi zaluzhni. .
Now Russia. The Russian army using artilery , usualy shooting 6
7 times more shells, mines, missiles , mortars, whatever , every day , then the ukronazis. With better tanks, artilery, planes, helicopters, drones, better prepared troops, better logistic, service, even sending fresh troops exchanging the tired soldiers, regrouping etc…… If you have 6-7 times more amunition, more precise, more effective weapons, plus drones , helicopters, bombers, jets……you will kill multiple times more enemies. IsnΒ΄t it? Logical. During the first phase of SMO the Russians had more casualities, (more then later, not more then ukronazis) anyhow since they regrouped the troops and the stupid ukronazis were forced to use pentagon /UK deadly stupid tactics for ukronazi PR attacks , totaly devastating for ukronazi troops it started to be a dissaster . Most devastating attacks for ukronazis were in Kharkov, Kherson, and now the Artemovsk, losing at least 600 -1000 men daily. BTW even the nazi junkie idiot was talking about loses 600 per day , I think it was during Kherson attacks by ukrofertilisers…… If you catched the big story of idiotic western medias regarding Russian attack on Petropavlivka early november , it was a celebration in news about alleged worst loses of Russian army from the begining of SMO, some 300 KIA during 4 days, story told by Russian soldier, and they said that was the worst , most terrible what the Russian army lost and the fascists were happy and dancing and singing and masturabating on CNN on air.,.(no, the CNN on air masturbation by american pathetic clown was months earlier) , So it means the maximum, most terrible 4 days are 75 KIA per day for Russian army. As maximum it is 75 x 300 = 22 500 KIA after 300 days (today) . As far as 75 is the maximum, more realistic number is much lower….. about 10 00012 000 which is even quite close to BBC estimation from september about all casualities (KIA +wounded) 50 000 , of course as british fascist propaganda trying to exaggerate the number. I am a bit sceptical that 50 000 total of casualities was reached even today. But OK. The ukronazis estimation of 100 000 Russian casualities as well as 10 -13 000 KIA ukronazis is total ridiculous nazi propaganda. If this number is true, why zaluzhni says that he has just 200 000 combat ready troops? After 9 months of ongoing mbilisation, and just 10 -13 000 KIA= 50 – 60 000 casualities. He shoud have at least 550 000 + mobilised during 9 months + NATO fascist clowns. Where are they?? Russia , on the other hand , has even multiple times more possible sources of troops available to reffil and they never used more then 15 – 20 % of the capacity of the Russian army. The capacity is 1,3 million troops , yet they were using 150 -180 000 troops at the beginning. They were even attacking the ukronazi garbage with disadvantage 1: 3-4 , depending on the location. Do not believe the fascist propaganda, make a math by yourself.. At the beginning it was minimum 600 000 fertiliser ukronazis. Yet the Russians completely demolished the ukronazi/NATO garbage. it's the magic of comparing apples and oranges! π you use the BBC's CONFIRMED (name and rank / social media post / obituary) russian KIA as the actual number of russian KIA as if every russian mother or father delivered a body bag was a digital native who will tweet on instagram to their telegram audience to announce on the public square that their son has died on the frontline, and as if russia did not have an interest in considering KIA to be MIA (or claim they've never even set foot in ukraine) so as to avoid paying compensation to their families. it's a safe bet that you can multiply the BBC's confirmed number by a factor of five or ten to arrive at the actual number, and you're close to the 100k that would seem realistic (say, between 50k and 100k, assuming numbers published by the ukrainian government to be slightly exaggerated). as for ukrainian KIA, you take the anecdote of a single dead AFU soldier and extrapolate from this single point of data to arrive at a number that is as anonymous as it is arbitrary, a bit of waving your hands in the air, throwing in some figures for the number of shells per time period for good measure without any statistical link from that to the number of deaths for a given time period. i agree that KIA numbers will differ based on firepower differential and tactical elements. sending waves of untrained mobilized troops against well-entrenched defenders while keeping your armor fifteen kilometers back to avoid ukrainian shelling (rinse and repeat if that fails) is one of the ways of maximizing your losses. cutting off the enemy's resupply lines for an entire region and retaking that entire region without much fighting (after months of probing attacks which did result in substantial casualties, but far from the level you might expect from potential street fighting in kherson city) is a way of minimizing your losses. we see very different levels of sophistication on the tactical side, which lead to very different KIA numbers (as you explained in the abstract – i just filled in some of the blanks to make the analysis somewhat more concrete)

When a Russian soldier get injured in battle they get patch up and is sent to the backline as support unit, when an Ukrainian soldier get injured they get patched up and is sent to managed the social media and PR department while getting in queue for the next interview with BBC.

I watch on telegram, there independent journalists who come to Ukraine base and interviews soldier, there a lot of ukraine soldier upset because media always talk about ukraine victory but never talk about they loses and they not allowed to talk about death, some soldier cry because the number of ukraine soldier death in kharkiv will blow people mind.
Most destruction occurs after the breakthrough and into the pursuit phase.
This hasn't happened yet. If it does though, the current numbers up to now are going to be insignificant in comparison.

Ukraine is throwing everything they got which is bodies at repelling the Russians which are just using ukraine bodies for artillery practice. You can add up bodies quick that way. Even with superior fire power, small arms fire from many ukraine bodies on the field will slow down russian advances and hold them up if Ukraine is utilizing trenches and forest and such. Its guerilla warfare. Look how that ended up in Vietnam and iraq/afghanistan. Complete holdups and stalemates for American troops and we had superior fire power then.
Ukraine could definitely have anywhere between 100-200k kia at this point we just dont know. But i doubt its any less than 100k with current information. I just wish Russia would take the white gloves off and finish this but i know its complicated and the world is watching.
I'm surprised Russia took the most losses in Phase 1. But it makes since considering that's the only time of the war where they were really attacking on all fronts (and mostly had worse logistics compared to battles around Donetsk and southern Ukraine).
