What happens if i bought a unit in 2018 and the bulding was finished in 2017. Prior to that there was nothing on this land. I paid for the unit outright so i have no mortgage on it. But when I settled, it was suggested I might leave the title at Landgate. I imagine I can get it, but will it be worth anyway given it's a new building.
Has anyone in Qld succeeded in getting their title ( as per pinned notice?)
I was also told my title has been destroyed and I was emailed a single sheet of paper that is nothing like a real title
Thank you Rod, possession is still 9/10th of the law and once something goes digital in preference to physical, its just a database entry that can be over written, manipulated etc. The key thing is priority think in terms of equity – first in time prevails. But the WA government are refusing to recognise the original first in time certificate. Looks like property ownership is quite a scam and in the state governments interests after all…so the way the state treats both people and property leaves much to be desired. Usually these programs are bourne of a bureaucrat having a bright idea and forcing on the public without a democratic process. I can understand augmenting the title, but replacing it is very dangerous.
