This is all to do with Victoria's credit rating that is quickly being downgraded from Aa to B. The Govt political and economically could not survive a negative A or B rating as borrowing costs would be extroronant. Victoria is in a lot of trouble.
But i thought the same pollies keep saying it makes money when they're trying to win the popularity contest when nobody wants it? Lol
Paying the wages for all those Olympians and other workers, accomodation costs, catering, insurances, transport costs, interest on all that extra debt etc etc etc would be costly.
Most Olympics loose money anyway.
They probably have signed contracts for construction works, so would cost billions in compensation if they cancelled them anyway.
Just like our ex PM Scummo signing contracts to his political donor overseas job service providers for billions of dollars till 2027.

The breathtaking budget blowout in the VicPol due to all the overtime for officers manning the anti-lockdown protests for the world most locked down city wouldn’t of helped. How embarrassing.
