I can remember at the age of 9 my stepdad explaining a new satellite being launched can see if the drink bottle in your hand is open or not and don’t read letters outside. That was in 1995. Not sure how he knew it but fascinated me.
What's unsettling about it is it's not really policed. Or one satellite crashes into another, who is responsible? They're just going to endlessly blame each other, and it's impossible to prove.
And of course if you're here you probably know the growing problem of space junk. Even a small screw traveling at 17k mph does massive damage.

Why would they use satellites to follow you? Every person who is any person, has a device in their hands that tracks their every movement. If you were a person of interest, they may combine your phone information with satellite information, but they would not routinely follow any person, without reason, it would be a waste of resources.
